Companies with VAT Certification – October 2025

October 22, 2025

The Tax Administration Service (“SAT” from its acronym in Spanish) published this month the updated list of companies registered under the Value Added Tax and Excise Tax on Production and Services Certification (“VAT Certification”) authorization, as of October 1, 2025.

In this new publication, 3,136 companies are reported to have valid certification, representing a decrease of 134 companies compared to the previous list dated January 1, 2025, which recorded 3,270 companies.

This reduction reflects a stricter stance by the tax authority, intensifying reviews and audits of the processes involving companies benefiting from this authorization.

The trend of cancellations has been increasing month by month, as a result of demanding customs audits. This has been reflected not only in the decrease in the number of certified companies but also in the increase in revenue collected that the authority has published in recent months.

The future of the foreign trade operations in Mexico anticipates an even more rigorous environment for companies, with more cancellations and higher compliance requirements, as reflected in the recently approved amendment to the Mexican Customs Law.

At Cuesta Campos, we are at the forefront of foreign trade regulations and how to address them. Our main motivation is to safeguard the interests of our clients and partners, as well as complying with legal requirements.

Please remain alert to our communication channels and our upcoming webinar, where we will thoroughly address the amendments to the Mexican Customs Law to share our strategic recommendations on this topic.
