Government orders the extension and modifies the care measures for the sanitary emergency derived from the COVID-19 virus.

On March 31th, 2020, the government ordered establishing extraordinary actions to address the health emergency caused by the “SARS-CoV2 virus” was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, the dictated measurements related to the private sector consists of:

  • Immediate suspension of non-essential activities.
  • The prohibition to hold congregations of more than 50 people, as well as the establishment of basic hygiene measures.
  • The strict and co-responsible domiciliary protection for people over 60 years of age, pregnant and lactating women, and those with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart, lung or immunosuppression diseases(people listed as vulnerable).

Therefore, on April 21st, 2020, the “Executive order amending the similar order establishing extraordinary actions to address the health emergency” was published, in which, derived from the technical analysis carried out by the Scientific Advisory Group to respond to the emergency and after the approval of the General Health Council, it is ordered that the suspension of non-essential activities, previously decreed, must continue until May 30th, 2020, however, the municipalities that present low or no transmission of COVID-19 may stop implementing such measures from May 18th, 2020.

Likewise, the Federal Health Ministry must define the criteria to evaluate the intensity, establish guidelines to reduce mobility and work in coordination with the Governments of the Federal Entities, which must keep the daily report on occupancy, availability and sanitary measures updated, implement prevention and control measures, as well as executing and supervising hospital restructuring and expansion plans to guarantee care and ensure the adequate and timely implementation of these measures.

Finally, and regardless of the intensity of the virus transmission, the restrictions concerning the strictly co-responsible domiciliary protection for people listed as vulnerable, will be maintained until further notice.
