Experience

Mauricio is a Partner in the Intellectual Property practice at Cuesta Campos, with over 26 years of experience advising domestic and multinational companies on the protection, management, and enforcement of their intangible assets in Mexico. He is widely recognized for designing comprehensive IP strategies that enable clients to maximize the value of their innovations and brands while mitigating risks in highly regulated and competitive environments.

Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, and franchising, as well as administrative and judicial litigation. He has been involved in highly complex matters, including high profile litigation proceedings and disputes within the pharmaceutical industry related to patents and marketing authorizations. His industry experience includes pharmaceuticals, personal care, and consumer goods, where he advises on both portfolio structuring and rights enforcement.

Mauricio is a recognized thought leader, frequently invited by organizations such as AmCham, ACC, and various binational chambers to share insights on the evolution and application of Mexico’s Federal Industrial Property Law.
