Experience

Mauricio has provided advice to clients in their contractual relationships, including reviewing, amendment and termination agreements for guarantees such as pledges and mortgages, purchase and lease agreements, as well as corporate advisory services to companies on foreign investments.

He has been involved in various secured financing projects using various mechanisms, including trusts and other complex agreements. Additionally, he actively participates in domestic mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Mauricio represents both domestic and foreign clients in all aspects related to the purchase, sale and merger of companies and business within regulated and non-regulated industries.

He advised issuers on all types of public securities offerings, as well as creditors and debtors in credit transactions and credit restructurings.

Furthermore, Mauricio has actively participated in issuing legal opinions for authorized rating agencies in Mexico, related to structured securities of national and foreign companies, as well as states and municipalities.

Before joining Cuesta Campos, he worked in the corporate banking division as an in-house counsel of one of the most specialized banks in the sector.

Advised a national bank on providing financing for the construction of an office tower in Santa Fe, Mexico City.

Advised a national bank on providing financing for the construction and development of a university in Queretaro.

Advised a national bank on the acquisition of a credit card portfolio from a foreign bank with operations in Mexico.

Advised a Mexican government fund in the execution of credit operation known as warehousing.

Advised a foreign bank on providing financing for the development, construction and operation of a hotel in Quintana Roo.

Advised various private equity funds and family offices in the due diligence, preparation and negotiation of various development agreement for real estate projects.

Advised credit rating agencies, both domestic and foreign, in the preparation of legal opinions to grant credit ratings to companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange and the Institutional Stock Exchange, when issuing bonds, as well as assisting state and municipal governments in structured bank credit transactions.

Advised various companies in the due diligence, negotiation and closing of various mergers and acquisition transactions.
