Experience

Rafael Sánchez joined Cuesta Campos in October 2009. His practice has focused on Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, foreign trade and tax law. He has also been involved in research works regarding Tax Law, Foreign Trade programs, and joint ventures.

In the foreign trade field, his experience includes procedures in origin verification, tariff classification, and non-tariff regulations. In corporate matters, he provides assistance in the incorporation of companies, compliance of corporate, contractual and administrative obligations; contractual negotiations, due diligence, as well as the review and preparation of agreements and corporate by-laws.

Prior to joining Cuesta Campos, Rafael was involved in civil and commercial litigation, non-contractual obligations compliance, constitutional review, and notary public law.

Legal opinions on compliance with Mexican regulations in connection to foreign trade, consumers’ protection, and tax matters.
Legal consulting on tariff classification and rules of origin.
Representation of companies in origin inspection procedures conducted by Mexican Revenue Agency.

Negotiation with authorities and assistance in compliance with tax and administrative obligations.

Negotiation with contracting parties and preparation of documents in mergers and acquisitions of entities and assets.

Sells and acquisitions of properties, incorporation and extinguishment of trusts.
