25 Nov Declaration of Use for trademarks in Mexico
As of August 2021, it will be mandatory for all trademark owners in Mexico, to declare before the Mexican Trademark Office, the actual and effective use of their trademarks.
In the declarations of use, trademark owners must declare the specific products and services for which they use their trademarks in Mexican territory.
The declaration of use must be filed in two moments:
1) Within the following three months after the third year of the registration date; and
2) When filing the trademark renewal.
If the trademark owner fails to file the corresponding declaration of use, the registration will expire.
